Complete tour of the Langhe from Barolo to S. Stefano Belbo with a detour in Cesare Pavese's Monferrato
1st day: arrival in Barolo by own vehicle or by hired bus. Visit of the WiMu, Museum of Wine, a historical, artistic and multimedia exhibition space dedicated to wine and the enoic civilization, located in the halls of the 13th century castle of the Falletti family. Free time at your disposal to explore the ancient village of Barolo, with its narrow streets full of history and charm. Then, direction Montelupo Albese for lunch in a farmhouse with a typical Langhe menu from appetizers to desserts. After lunch, a short walk to the Big Bench nr. 100, where you can admire a wonderful landscape, feeling like children. Finally, La Morra to admire the famous Belvedere and reach the Brunate Chapel, with the famous wall drawing by the English artist David Tremlett. At the end, direction Cherasco for check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
2nd day: after breakfast, departure for Serralunga d'Alba with your own vehicle or hired bus. The town is dominated by the fourteenth-century noble castle with an architectural structure unique in Italy. Visit of the castle, where, from the windows on the third floor, you have a spectacular 360 degree view of the Langhe up to the Alps. Continue to Grinzane Cavour to visit the castle, with a quadrilateral plan, positioned on a hill and surrounded by vineyards. Inside there are suggestive halls, which house a permanent museum of peasant civilization and the Regional Enoteca. Following lunch in a farmhouse in Montelupo Albese with a typical Langhe menu.
After lunch, short walk to the Big Bench nr. 100. The tour will end at Tenuta Fontanafredda, a gift from Vittorio Emanuele II to the Bella Rosin, walking in the park among ancient trees, vineyards and an idyllic lake. At the end, direction Cherasco for check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
3rd day: After breakfast, departure for Coazzolo by own vehicle or by hired bus. In the midst of lush vineyards is the Chapel of the Beata Maria Vergine del Carmine, which the English artist David Tremlett has transformed into a work of art thanks to his magical wall drawing technique. We continue our journey towards the fairy-tale Relais San Maurizio, on the heights of Santo Stefano Belbo, and here, really, we enter an enchanted world where the third work by Tremlett is found with the interior of the chapel frescoed in the typical style of the artist English. All around a spectacular park with millenary plants, modern works of art and breathtaking views of the vineyards below. Typical lunch in a farmhouse in Canelli, where you can take the "road of lovers", a romantic path inspired by the sweethearts of Raymond Peynet, which culminates in the Unesco Belvedere. Finally we will reach the Big Bench of the Moscato-colored Big Bench project, surrounded by vineyards of the wine famous all over the world.
